BACK TO SCHOOL

I now have 2 kids in school all day and boy is it strange (a good strange). What do parents do in a quiet house? Anna is still home, so I'm not talking totally quiet...but still.
William LOVES school. We were nervous about the decision to send him to kindergarten versus putting him in preschool (because of his late birthday he is THE youngest in his class). I know we are only a few weeks into school, but I think we made the right decision.
Sophia missed all the first day of school activities and introductions due to some Dr's appointments in the US (more in next blog), so she has had a tougher time adjusting to her new classroom. Only 1 teacher remains from last year so her "old" school suddenly seems very different and Sophia does NOT like change. Things seem to be getting better, but it was a tough first few days.

SUMMER PICNIC

The Moldovan's LOVE their forests. Seriously, they talk about them a lot and love to pull off the road and have impromptu picnic's (like 20 feet from the side of the road, fun). So, we decided to embrace our inner Moldovan and pack up the kids (and Marge) for a picnic in the woods. We had a great time, but did drive INTO the woods for our picnic. I think this was an important factor, just saying...
We still have some time to go until Anna's hair is back to normal. I'm now at the point where this look seems pretty normal to me. This is not a good point to get to.
The kids found a nice limbo (we pronounce it "mimbo") stick and were able to get a few rounds in before Margo realized the fun she was missing out on.

WILBUR'S 5th

WILBUR IS 5!!!!
When did this grumpy, fussy, whiny, booger of a baby get so fun??
Per William's request, he had a dinosaur birthday - complete with a T-Rex pinata. William has turned into Rainman with his dinosaur obsession. The kid lives, breathes and sleeps dinosaurs. He can name them, spell them, tell you which is a meat eater, which have large brains, where they lived. Every waking moment he walks around examining a handful of dino flash cards with all of these dinosaur factiods. I'm getting pretty good myself. For those who care, a Troodon had the biggest brain size to body size ratio.
I made 2 cakes which was a really good move as there was only crumbs left. I waivered back and forth on how many, knowing another cake meant a few more sleepless hours. So, mom was up at 2am decorating, but kid had enough birthday cake. My reward is waiting in heaven, i think! Or my reward will be a 25 year old who remembers his really cool dinosaur birthday. By the way mom, I remember all of my really cool birthday's too (backwards party, come as you are party, hobo party, surprise party....not forgotten!!)
